Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration is an opportunity to deepen one’s prayer life by spending time before the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration and Benediction is available every Monday from 3pm-6pm at OLGC. There is always help needed for those that would like to sit in for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour Adoration.

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the celebrant during Masses and other liturgical events. They must have received their First Holy Communion. Training is scheduled throughout the year.

Cursillo

Cursillo is a faith-filled group of people that through the grace of God and the prayers of many throughout the world, has awakened the hunger for God among the baptized. In longing to be ever closer to Christ, we are called to be living witnesses of the gospel.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

The extraordinary ministers help distribute Eucharist at all liturgies. They need to be prayerful, hospitable, well-trained, and have a deep appreciation and reverence for the Eucharist.

Greeters

Greeters need to arrive 20 minutes before the liturgies begin. Greeters welcome all those coming to worship at each of the weekend liturgies. They need to have a welcoming and friendly attitude toward all who attend the liturgies.

Lectors

Lectors proclaim the first and second readings at Sunday and Holy Day Liturgies. These well-trained people of prayer will prepare and reflect upon the readings before proclaiming them at the liturgy.

Musicians

The role of the musicians is to lead the assembly in prayer by fostering and nourishing their faith through song and music. Read more...

Online Prayer Chain

The Online Prayer Chain provides an opportunity to request prayers, as well as to pray for those who have special needs or requests.

Outreach Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

These extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist take communion to those who are hospitalized, home-bound, or in retirement homes or centers. They visit and pray with individuals for strength and healing.

Sacristans

Sacristans prepare the church for the celebration of the liturgy. They care for and prepare the sacred objects and books used during the liturgy. They assist liturgical ministers by giving guidance and instruction as needed.

Ushers

Ushers help create a welcoming environment at Mass as they assist in seating and/or offering those needing extra assistance. They are also responsible for taking up the collection and assisting with logistics at special events.
