March 9th - 11th, 2018
Idaho Catholic Youth Conference
Ford Idaho Center, Nampa

Official Website

What is it?
ICYC is a yearly extravaganza put on for Catholic teens by our diocese, the Diocese of Boise. ICYC stands for Idaho Catholic Youth Conference. It is a wonderful opportunity for teens to experience a bit of the vastness of the Catholic Church. Through dynamic speakers, moving worship, powerful testimonies, and joining a community of believers, the teens grow closer to Christ and His Holy Church. This is an opportunity few get to experience after graduation. It changes lives.
Who is it for?
ICYC is for teens grades 9-12.  No matter where a teen is in their spiritual journey--just dipping their toes into Catholicism, battling with the existence of God, or even ready to run away to a convent/monastery (though if they're searching for silence, it may be a bit loud)--a teen will have an experience they will never forget.
Where is it?
ICYC 2018 Endless Joy. Our parish's teens travel to the Idaho Center by bus for the opening evening, and then to hotels (one for boys, another for girls) for two nights. The Diocese then buses our teens from their hotels to the Idaho Center and back again.
When can I sign up?
Registrations can be found at the parish office. They are due January 28th.
Where can I go for more information?
If you have questions, Martha is more than willing to answer them for you at msantos.youthminister@gmail.com or by phone at 208-587-3046 ext. 11.  If you're just looking for more information, feel free to check out the official webpage at www.icyc2018.com/

ICYC LETTER TO THE PARENTS
Dear parents and students,

ICYC is around the corner and there are some things you need to know:

The bus will pick up students in Glenns Ferry at 3:00pm in front of the school and will head to Mountain Home right after. Mountain Home students should be ready to go by 3:30pm at the Parish parking lot. The bus will leave Our Lady of Good Counsel at 4:00pm sharp! Please have your students in their designated stops on time!! ALL students NEED to ride the bus. There will be absolutely no student drivers!

We are expecting the students to arrive at Idaho Ford Center by 5:30pm (allowing time for traffic). The students and their luggage will be dropped off at the Idaho Ford Center and there will be different buses in the afternoon to take the students to their designated hotels.

Students need to pack lightly. It's only three days, so there is no need to over pack. The registration fee covers the registration, hotel, busing, and food. You are more than welcome to send your student with extra money if they would like to purchase anything at the event center, but extra money is not required.

I do recommend the students take a water bottle and snacks. Although meals are provided, the weekend is a long one, and they do tend to get hungry. I also recommend that they dress comfortably. We will be having Mass with Bishop Christensen (Diocese of Boise) and Bishop Liam Cary (Diocese of Baker) on Sunday. Students are more than welcome to dress in their Sunday's best for Mass. Parents, family, friends, and parishioners are also more than welcome for Mass on Sunday at 11:00am. If you would like to attend Mass in Nampa, you are more than welcome to pick up your student after that and not have them ride the bus.

The bus is expected to pick up the students on Sunday around 12:30pm and should be back to Mountain Home at 1:30pm. Once the students from OLGC are dropped off there, the rest of the students will be dropped off at Glenns Ferry around 2:00pm.

NO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, OR WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED. If any situation arises where a student is found with any of these items, my first call will be to the police, and my second call will be to the parents. All students must remain at the event center during the day, and at the hotel at night. If a student leaves the event center, my first call will be to the police to file a report for a missing minor, and my second call will be to the parents. Our priority is to keep our students safe, and for them to get the best out of this experience.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at the office or via email.

Sincerely,
Martha Santos

CARTA A LOS PADRES DE FAMILIA SOBRE ICYC
Estimados padres y estudiantes,

Gracias,
Martha Santos
